Delete data
You can remove some or all of your Echoo data without deleting your entire
account. Use the App controls below, or contact us.
Delete data yourself in the App
- Open Echoo and sign in.
- Journal entries / media — open an entry and delete it (removes associated audio and attached media according to the product flow).
- Collections — edit or delete lists you created; remove entries from collections as available in the App.
- Profile fields — in Settings / Edit profile, clear or change display name, bio, avatar, phone, or other editable fields.
- Social — unfriend, remove tags where offered, or adjust visibility so fewer people see your content.
- Analytics — turn off product analytics in Settings (defaults to off).
- Export a copy first (optional) — Settings → Export data, then delete what you no longer want stored with us.
Request broader erasure by email
To request deletion of specific categories of data while keeping your account, email
contact@echoo.day
from your account email and describe what you want removed (e.g. all journal content, social
graph, push tokens). We will verify the request and respond within a reasonable period under
applicable law.
What is deleted vs retained
- Deleted on request / in-app deletion — the content and profile fields you remove; associated media objects we store for those items.
- Kept while the account exists — remaining account identifiers needed to sign you in (e.g. email / auth IDs) and any data you did not ask to erase.
- Short retention after deletion — backups/logs may persist up to about 90 days, unless law requires longer.
Delete the whole account instead
To close the account and remove associated data in one step, follow
